Kenya has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike that hit a residential building in Doha, Qatar, saying the attack breached international law.

In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi said the strike, which reportedly targeted Hamas leaders, endangered civilians and violated the principles of proportionality and distinction under international humanitarian law.

“Nairobi reiterates that no military objective justifies deliberate or indiscriminate attacks on residential areas. Such actions put innocent lives at risk and undermine efforts to restore peace in the region,” the ministry said.

The government called for restraint from all parties and urged renewed commitment to diplomatic solutions. Kenya also reaffirmed its support for regional and international mediation efforts to de-escalate tensions.

Qatari authorities confirmed casualties from the strike, although the full number of victims is yet to be disclosed.

Israel has not commented on the Kenyan statement but has defended its recent operations in the Gulf as targeted actions against Hamas operatives allegedly involved in planning attacks.

Kenya’s intervention reflects mounting concern among African nations over the widening conflict and its implications for regional and global security.
