The 2025 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term 2 Games concluded in Kakamega with an electrifying display of talent, teamwork, and triumph. Schools from across the country battled fiercely, with Rift Valley, Western, Eastern, Nairobi, Nyanza, and Central regions claiming top honors in soccer, volleyball, basketball, rugby 7s, and netball.

In boys’ soccer, St. Joseph’s Boys (Jobo) from Rift Valley clinched the title, showcasing relentless attacking prowess and solid defense to dominate the tournament. The girls’ soccer crown went to Butere from Western, who thrilled the home crowd with their skillful play and strategic mastery.

Volleyball saw Cheptil (Rift Valley) dominate the boys’ category with powerful spikes and impeccable coordination, while the indomitable Kwanthanze from Eastern continued their reign in the girls’ category, cementing their status as a volleyball powerhouse with a commanding performance.

In the fast-paced 3×3 basketball, Sigalame (Western) emerged victorious in the boys’ category, dazzling fans with their agility and sharp shooting. BuruBuru from Nairobi took the girls’ title, displaying exceptional teamwork and clutch performances under pressure.

Rugby 7s brought intense action, with St. Peter’s Mumias (Western) claiming the boys’ title through aggressive tackles and lightning-fast tries. In a historic win, Kinale Girls High School from Central powered through to win the girls’ rugby 7s, marking a breakthrough for the region.

The girls’ netball competition saw Oyugi Ogango from Nyanza rise to the top, outmaneuvering opponents with precision passes and clinical finishing.

The games, hosted in Kakamega, drew thousands of spectators and showcased the depth of talent in Kenyan secondary schools. “This year’s competition was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our young athletes,” said KSSSA Chairman John Otieno. “We’re proud of every team and look forward to seeing them shine at the Fiessaa Games.”

With the national stage set, the champions now turn their sights to the East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (Fiessa) Games, ready to represent Kenya with pride.
