Buzeki, the founder and Group Chairman of the Buzeki Group of Companies, has built one of East Africa’s most diversified and influential business empires. With operations spanning logistics, transport, manufacturing, and dairy processing, his journey is a testament to persistence, vision, and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities.

Laying the Foundation in Dairy

Buzeki’s career began in the 1990s when he joined Kilifi Plantations as Regional Dairy Sales Manager. In a previous interview with Marcopolis, he recalled how the role gave him invaluable insights into consumer marketing and distribution. During his time there, he played a key role in developing the Kilifi Gold milk brand, which went on to dominate the Coastal market with over 80% market share.

This early exposure sparked his interest in Kenya’s dairy sector. He later helped launch Tuzo Milk in the Coastal region, where his grassroots marketing tactics and deep understanding of consumer behavior quickly elevated the brand to a market leader.

Stepping into Entrepreneurship

In 1999, Buzeki made a full leap into entrepreneurship by founding Buzeki Enterprises Ltd. Starting with just one truck, he gradually secured logistics contracts with major clients, including Bamburi Cement, the United Nations World Food Programme, and East African Portland Cement.

Today, Buzeki Logistics is a trusted name in the transportation of cement, fertilizers, bulk cargo, abnormal loads, and supply chain solutions. The company counts industry giants like Lafarge and East African Portland Cement among its clients.

Buzeki credits his success to strong negotiation skills, consistent delivery, and the ability to build lasting trust—qualities that have helped him thrive in Kenya’s highly competitive logistics sector.
