The Kenya Airways flight transporting the body of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga from Mumbai to Nairobi became the most tracked plane in the world, according to live flight tracking data from FlightRadar24.

Flight KQ203 drew global attention as millions of Kenyans followed the journey online, turning the routine international flight into a moment of national reflection. At its peak, more than 13,000 users were simultaneously tracking the aircraft, temporarily making it the most viewed flight worldwide.

Kenya Airways confirmed the surge of attention with a post on X, sharing a screenshot that showed the plane topping FlightRadar24’s global leaderboard. The airline wrote, “The most tracked flight. KQ 202 bringing Baba home.”

The digital vigil reflected the scale of Raila Odinga’s political and emotional influence in Kenya and across Africa. Social media platforms were flooded with tributes, flight updates, and messages of unity as Kenyans awaited his return.

FlightRadar24 data shows that KQ203 ranked first globally for several hours, surpassing regular high-profile commercial and cargo routes. While not an all-time tracking record, the moment placed Kenya in the center of worldwide online attention.

The flight touched down safely in Nairobi, where thousands gathered to receive the former Prime Minister’s remains, closing a chapter in Kenya’s political story and marking the beginning of national mourning for one of its most enduring leaders.

Kenya airways flight 203 will be renamed RAO001 immediately it enters Kenya airspace. It’s expected to enter at 8.50am local time.
