Once again, after being blocked out  in previous Election, Kagame seeks to be elected as the 6th President.

Reuben Kigame, gospel musician, says he will vie for presidency in 2027, to unseat President William Ruto.

“I’m not hoping, I’m planning to be on the ballot in 2027. I’m just getting ready to launch officially in a couple of weeks. Its’ about two years to the election, so two years is good enough to roll it out,” Kigame told NTV’s Fixing the Nation on Monday.

Kigame said that he started a journey that he didn’t finish in 2022 and will be working hard to be successful come the next General Election.

In 2022, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) locked Kigame out of the presidential race over signature shortfall.

According to Kigame, his agendas denotes the need for character driven leadership.

“We’ve got to look at the character of the person we elect and it’s not just about the presidency. My instance is we need to have character-driven MCAs, Women Reps, MP, Governors.

You can see cases in the papers today, cases of people like Sonko (former Nairobi Governor) you know, dragging on how many years later,” stated Kigame as he emphasized the need to have ethical leadership and character to be at the center of political conversations.

He called on religious entities, media houses and social justice groups to create a scorecard for the current administration and future administrations to determine whether leaders are committed to promoting integrity.

Kigame commended the Gen Zs for their push for accountability, transparency and good governance.
