Just as first incident, at 2pm on Thursday inside Ward 7B at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Nairobi Kenya, a disturbing discovery was made, a male, 54, patient was found dead under suspicious circumstances.
The man lay motionless on his hospital bed, his body soaked in blood. His bed was positioned directly opposite the ward where, just months earlier, 39-year-old Gilbert Kinyua had been found with his throat brutally slit.
Blood was visible on the floor of the ward, marking the scene of yet another violent death. The deep wound on the victim’s throat mirrored the earlier killing, raising chilling questions about a possible pattern.
In the waiting area, families who had come to visit their loved ones were met with heightened restrictions. Authorities announced that only one visitor would be allowed in, and only for a few minutes.
Multiple investigative units, including the Directorate DCI Homicide Division and forensic experts from the Government Chemist Department, arrived at the scene. Their mission: to gather evidence that could shed light on the motive and identify those responsible.
Hospital management has officially confirmed the murder and stated that they are working closely with all investigative agencies to ensure a thorough probe.
As the investigation unfolds, Kenyans are left demanding answers—and justice.
The DCI have confirmed the arrest of one Kennedy Kalombotole, the main suspect who allegedly slit the throat of a patient in a KNH ward.
Detectives say he’s also linked to a separate killing in Ward 7C earlier this year.
