In 2005, while studying at a military college in London, Prince Al-Waleed suffered a severe brain injury in a car accident, leading to a coma that has lasted nearly 20 years.
Despite medical advice to discontinue life support, his father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, has refused, expressing hope for his son’s recovery.
In 2019, there were reports of the prince showing slight movements, such as lifting a finger or moving his head, though these did not indicate a return to full consciousness.
He died after being in a coma for 20 years.
The Saudi Royal Court confirmed Prince Al-Waleed’s passing on Saturday, July 19, in an official statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
