President William Ruto has reiterated his administration’s resolve to make bold and timely decisions to fast-track Kenya’s transformation and close the development gap with other nations.

During a meeting with leaders from Tharaka-Nithi County at State House in Nairobi, President Ruto criticized the country’s historical reluctance to implement critical reforms, saying it had slowed down national progress. He stressed that his government is intent on reversing that trend by focusing on policies and actions that generate real impact for ordinary Kenyans.

“Our country can only move forward if its leaders are willing to make the tough but necessary calls,” the President said. “For too long, Kenya has been held back because we avoided making decisive moves.”

Ruto pointed to several reform efforts already in motion, including universal health coverage, improved access to affordable and quality education, housing projects, and agricultural development. He noted that these initiatives are beginning to produce positive results across the country.

Highlighting specific projects in Tharaka-Nithi County, the President cited developments like improved clean water access and the long-awaited construction of the Nithi Bridge as proof that the government’s development blueprint is reaching all regions.

“Our development model is designed to promote inclusive growth and uplift every community,” he added.

The President’s comments come as the national government continues to push forward with high-impact projects across various counties, urging collaboration from local leadership to ensure timely delivery and long-term sustainability.
