The Wiper Democratic Movement has officially rebranded as the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF), signaling a strategic push toward the 2027 General Elections. On August 1, 2025, party leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced the change after receiving a new certificate from the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).
During a press briefing, Kalonzo expressed appreciation to the ORPP, led by Acting Registrar Sophia Sitati, for their professionalism during the rebranding process. He stated that the new name reflects the party’s commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges and aligning with the people’s will.
“Political parties must evolve with the people. By adopting the Wiper Patriotic Front name, we reaffirm our duty to liberate our nation from tyrannical rule. This is captured in our slogan #KomboaKenya,” Kalonzo said.
He also hinted at future alliances, noting, “We will soon announce details of a winning coalition.” Kalonzo confirmed that the WPF plans to field candidates for all elective positions in 2027.
Additionally, Kalonzo emphasized the party’s intent to engage the youth, particularly Generation Z, in political matters. “We will champion the spirit of Gen Z, ensuring they have a rightful place in politics,” he said.
The rebranding underscores WPF’s ambition to strengthen its position as a key player in Kenyan politics, with a focus on patriotism and national renewal ahead of the 2027 elections.
