E-citizen a platform that Kenyans have been raising questions over years, now the fear has been confirmed when it has been found that money paid doesn’t reach Central Bank.

National Treasury Chris Kiptoo has been summoned by National Assembly taking him to a receiving end

MPs have summoned Treasury PS Chris Kiptoo after it emerged that E-Citizen funds don’t reach Treasury accounts at CBK.

They also faulted the Treasury for ignoring the Auditor General’s recommendations

KES 44.8 BILLION collected via eCitizen can’t be accounted for. KES 116M in marriage fees vanished from just 15 centres, 19 centres didn’t even bother to file reports.

Meanwhile, a private company, Webmasters Kenya Ltd, still controls a national revenue platform, despite a State House directive to hand it over to the government.
