Former Deputy President and DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua has hit back at Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, defiantly stating he will not record a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over his remarks linking President William Ruto to Al-Shabaab.
Speaking from the US, Gachagua insisted the matter is already before the American Senate and dismissed engaging Kenyan authorities, accusing them of ignoring serious investigations. He urged the US to target sanctions at President Ruto, not the country.
Murkomen, however, accused Gachagua of exploiting terrorism claims for political mileage and warned he must present evidence to investigators upon return.
The war of words has intensified political tensions, drawing mixed reactions from leaders and the public over governance, patriotism, and national security.
