At least 8 people killed, scores injured in an accident involving a train and a bus near Morendat farm in Naivasha, police boss OCPD Anthony Keter says.
Reports added that it would organise airlifts for those critically injured.
A Red Cross worker at the scene told Reuters that so far emergency teams had recovered six bodies from the wreckage.
The Kenya Pipeline Company did not say how many people had been killed or injured.
The Standard newspaper cited a police commander as saying at least Eight people had been killed and scores injured in the accident.
This comes hours after a plane crashed in Nairobi killing 6 on board, four onboard and two on the ground.

Kenya Pipeline Company has released a statement confirming the accident. According to the company, the crash occurred in the afternoon at the railway crossing just before the Morendat Training and Conference Centre.
The company further disclosed that the bus was struck by the train while carrying staff who were finishing the morning shift.
Following the incident, the company revealed that it had already mobilised a rescue team and that all the injured were immediately evacuated to hospitals within Naivasha for medical attention.
