President William Ruto has sweetened the deal for the Harambee Stars ahead of their CAF quarterfinal showdown against Zambia next Sunday.

Ruto announced that each player will receive $19,250 (KSh 2.5 million) if they secure victory in the crucial match. This is a significant increase from the earlier pledge of $7,700 (KSh 1 million) plus a two-bedroom home under the Affordable Housing Programme for reaching the quarterfinals.

The President met with the national team to congratulate them on their impressive run and to motivate them further.

He also fulfilled his earlier promise by awarding $7,700 (KSh 1 million) to each of the 27 players and 15 technical bench members; a total payout of $323,400 (KSh 42 million)  following their 2-1 victory over Morocco in the round of 16.

The enhanced rewards underline Ruto’s commitment to supporting Kenyan sports and boosting morale as the Harambee Stars aim for a historic semifinal spot.
