MAT is the Real Venom to Kill corruption in Kenya , President William Ruto Proclaims.

President William Samoei Ruto now forms a new Multi-Agency Team (MAT) to aid on war against corruption.

On Tuesday August 19, 2025 president unveiled 11 Key Agencies whose aim is to bring together key state institutions in a revived push to curb graft,economic crimes and misuse of public resources.

The MAT core agencies include Executive Office of the President as chairperson, Office of the Attorney General as secretary, National Intelligence Service, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Financial Reporting Centre, Asset Recovery Agency, Kenya Revenue Authority, Central Bank of Kenya , and Public Procurement Regulatory Authority.

In a presidential proclamation, Ruto reiterated that “the membership is mandated to co-opt additional representation from designated agencies to further enhance it’s objectives”.

While responding to resource allocation claims , the president insisted that MAT will be funded through the budgetary allocations of its members institutions and other approved sources .
