In a show of unity and resolve, ODM and Kenya Kwanza MPs today threw their weight behind President William Ruto’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a women’s economic empowerment fundraiser in Gem Constituency, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa emphasized that the Broad-Based Government is focused on tangible development, not empty rhetoric.

He criticized the opposition for what he termed as relentless negativity, insisting that only well-grounded plans and practical programs will uplift Kenyan lives.

Echoing this sentiment, National Assembly Budget Committee Chairman Samuel Atandi revealed that ODM is exploring a coalition with UDA for the next election. He affirmed that President Ruto would be their joint presidential candidate.

On his part, Nyando MP Jared Okelo dismissed the emerging opposition alliances, predicting they would face a harsh political reality.

Emurua Dikir MP Johana Ng’eno and President Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet reinforced the commitment to unity between Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga, stating that the two would remain aligned through to the end.

The fundraiser was attended by several MPs who reaffirmed their support for the Broad-based government.
